I am a retired deputy lead teacher and head teacher consultant and have been a regional branch secretary for 15 years and a regional official for ATL. I was a Territorial Army Major for 25 years. I have also served on the North Tyneside budget compiling committee and I am currently a Wansbeck district councillor. In the past, I have been Chair of the Choppington Parish Council (8 years) and Chair of the Northumberland association of local councils and also a Church Steward. I am a father of ex pupils of Ringway and now a grandfather too.

I have worked at Ringway Primary School for 14 years as a class teacher and I am passionate about providing our children with the best possible education so that each individual reaches their true potential. I have worked in several year groups across the school and I am currently the Deputy Head teacher with the responsibility for assessment, data and Pupil Premium. I am excited about my role as Staff Governor as I feel it will provide me with further opportunity to work alongside staff, families and our community to ensure our pupils receive an enriching and inspiring curriculum.

I have 2 children, Josef and Theo, who attend Ringway Primary School. Both love the school, the teaching staff and the education they receive. I joined the Governing Body in June 2018 to support and help improve our school, to be a voice for pupils and parents. My background is Office Management. When I'm not running around after 3 children, I am a volunteer Safeguarding Officer and Youth Rugby Coach at a local club.

 

Co-opted Governors:

Mrs Elizabeth Butler (B Ed, BA, M Ed) – Maths, Strategic      

I have taught in First, Primary, Middle and Special Schools teaching science, maths, RE - specialising in special needs. I was a County Union secretary for 15 years and I am an ex Vice Chair of Sacre. In the past, I have helped run a youth club for 9-13 year olds at Stakeford Methodist church. I am also a local preacher. A mother of ex pupils of Ringway and now a grandmother too.
